- It sounds like the problem is that you are using a serial
- connection, and the software assumes yu are *usually* using a parallel
- connection. Check to see if you software, the driver, Print Manager, etc.
- allows you to use the SER: device instead of the more common PAR: device.

- Onne way to check this, would be to copy a file to SER: from the
- CLI. You should get some sort of print out, even if garbage. At least you
- would know that the Serial connection is okay.

- The next obvious question, is why are you using the serial port
- instead of the parallel port? Is this a printer for the Mac only, thus no
- parallel connection? *If you can*, the Parallel port is superior, since
- it is faster.
